MOSON designs and manufactures solar home systems, solar TVs, portable power stations and battery storage in its own factory in Shenzhen, runs its own PAYGO platform, and works with households and distributors across Africa.

PAYGO solar home system
A wall-mountable solar home system in four battery sizes, sold with a solar panel and two LED bulbs. It runs 12 V DC appliances, charges phones over USB, and unlocks with PAYGO codes typed on its keypad.
PAYGO
Our PAYGO platform uses OpenPAYGO Token, an open-source standard for keypad-based pay-as-you-go devices.
The payment is recorded on the PAYGO platform, for example after a mobile money transfer.
Each payment creates a numeric code for that one device. The customer receives it on their phone, for example by SMS.
The system checks the code and switches on for the period paid. The device needs no mobile signal or internet.

For distributors
We work with distributors, retailers, installers and energy-access programmes.
